Isotiles for the visually impaired
In September, with schools returned from holiday, a trip was made to a school to see how Isotiles might help a pupil with severe visual impairment. Obviously, as plastic shapes that can be held and handled, Isotiles have much to offer. But even more useful for the pupil pictured here were the large magnetic Isotiles, which can easily be placed on a metal whiteboard.
John Everett, who is a retired teacher, is willing to consider invitations to schools anywhere in mainland UK, either to take lessons to demonstrate the potential of Isotiles, or to conduct seminars for groups of teachers on mathematical manipulatives.
